SEO Copywriting for new hog roast website
After a number of years I finally get back to grass roots with a job from my home county of Essex, it is the first time in ages that I have had a local copywriting assignment for a company based in Essex and a really nice change as I was able to get out and meet the client regularly without much fuss.
Its not often I get the chance to get involved in a new business and really make a difference to the chances of success at that level but I really am enjoyingthis current copywriting assignment. Usually I am engrossed in writing copy and content for large corporate companies but this has been a really refreshing story.

In fact so refreshing I am now going to get more involved with small enterprise business again because there is some satisfaction with the success and the difference a writer can make to a new or small business.
I was approached by another Parker and asked if I would consider copywriting for a small website that was being created for a new business. I had a gap in my diary because I was due to go on holiday but then had a change of heart so I agreed.
New Business Venture
The new business was a hog roast business and the young man was about to embark on his first business venture, now until I started researching I didn’t know just how popular hog roasts were and the keyword research identified some terrific key phrases. The website was a simple affair with a few pictures from hog roast events and so I put together content for the top level pages.
The goal here was to get good search positions quickly as the hog roast season was well underway, usually you would be looking at a number of months for Google search profile with a brand new domain name so it was a tall order.
Well I researched thoroughly, we created the pages, added fresh content on a drip basis, we created some link bait and also I created some really good content for localised directory listings.
Quick Success
Then within 3 weeks not only did the first enquiries come through the website this particular Parker had three bookings and lots of page 2 listings. We now have the generic term – hog roast hire up to the top of page 3 as well which is really astonishing considering we are now only 4 weeks into the job. I have seen the order book and there are already 5 bookings plus a couple he could not do as they fell on the same booking slots.
What this means is that in the space of 5 weeks I have helped to create a brand new business and this business in a recession is already going from strength to strength, the sheer joy on this young mans face was so satisfying that I am now compelled to get involved in more of these projects.
There is no doubt that the copywriting was a big part of the success, in addition my knowledge of SEO and how search works was also intrumental (it helps being married to one of the leading SEO experts in the world too) and so now I am looking for the next small business opportunity and my Virgin assignment will have to make a little bit of room.
