Sony Centres Background
– Sony has a series of shops aimed at all the High Street stores, the shops are called Sony Centres and the latest Sony products are available in these town and city shops. At the time of the account acquisition there was no consistent online profile for any of the Sony stores. In addition their locations and brand names would offer a similar absence of visibility in Google. The group Sony Centres website was in the process of being redeveloped but had critical issues around content and SEO.
Sony Centres Challenge
– The copywriting had to dovetail into a very limited amount of page space and incorporate page elements that would assist the individual location pages to perform in Google searches. Calls to action were important as was the delivery of crucial location based information including maps and opening times. Product information needed to conform with the Sony line and each page needed to avoid duplication issues with search engine spiders otherwise pages would be dropped from search results.
The final challenge was a 2 month turnaround for 154 locations plus the addition of unique titles, headings and descriptions for every location page to conform with SEO compliancy.

– Complete success, every store is now listed at the top of search results and pages are not troubled with Google results filtering, the calls to action work extrememly well and feedback is up to unprecedented levels. Latest Sony innovations are easily integrated into page space thanks to the compact but factual content.

– The focus here was always about speed and quality, the copywriting had to be condensed into regualr bursts of activity so that the developers could integrate the information and then we could test the page on the development server to ensure that the correct headings, titles and descriptions were populated. Compacting the content and populating the correct calls to action has ensured that not only will Sonycentres.co.uk turn up in search but when visitors hit the page they do not bounce off without action.
